Isle of Sheppey

This week I went with my family for a family holiday to the Isle of Sheppey well actually the Isle of Harty which is a small island off the Isle of Sheppey. I will be writing up about my experience soon when I get home and can download my images all I can say now is that the highlights of the trip were Turtle Dove, Whimbrel, Barn Owl and a trip to Elmley Marshes.

shrike it is

Yesterday and today after a long period of no birding I was able to go to the Red-backed Shrike in Lake Farm CP. The first time I went it was showing very well and I only saw it a few times for about 30 seconds.
But luckily I was more lucky today and the Red-backed Shrike was showing for longer amounts of time in more open places one of the reasons being that today was more sunny then yesterday.

Sabine's Gull (3/7/12)

Yesterday I went with my brother to see the Sabine's Gull as soon as I heard of it. Luckily we were given a lift and arrived around 17:30. We saw it almost immediately and then moved further around the reservoir so as to get a better view. It came very close and showed amazingly but unfortunately there was rain and I couldn't risk having my camera out for to long and so I didn't get very good pictures.
