Fen Drayton (24/6/12)
My second trip to Fen Drayton was more of a photography trip. Most of the time we ended up looking at Dragonflies and sometimes Butterflies. We had the odd warbler every now and then such as Whitethroat, Sedge Warbler, Cetti's Warbler (only heard) and Garden Warbler ( a year tick). There were also a lot of Common Terns which were skimming the water with their bills picking up the occasional fish and feeding their young. One female Common Tern had not quite got the hang of feeding its young instead it ate the fish by its self. As well as Warblers and Terns we saw some birds of prey, two of which were Hobbies and the other one was a Kestrel which hovered wonderfully next to the hide.

Pitstone Hill
So this may sound odd but I saw one of my first ever Corn Bunting on Pitstone Hill on Wednesday when I went with my parents to pick up my brother from Pitstone Hill. I was very glad to be able to see some because it is one of the birds that I have been chasing for a very long time like the Cuckoo which keeps on slipping through my fingers. As well as the Corn bunting I heard the Quails which were apparently calling all day.

Little Bittern (7/6/12)
I went today with my brother to see the Little Bittern in Rickmansworth. Luckily my mum took us both to Stockers Lake in the car which saved me having to cycle. It only took a while to walk/run to the bird and we almost immediately saw it.
As you can see in the pictures the Little Bittern became less allusive after a while and was standing in the open by the time I had to leave.
